Since last year's Sparkling Wine Sunday School was such a hit, we're bringing you our 2024 installment to help you get ready to ring in the holidays.

Whether you're prepping for an intimate dinner with your significant other, inviting the besties over for a potluck, or hosting the entire family (or friend group) at your place for an unforgettable party, this Sunday School class will get you prepped to be the host with the most sparkling wine knowledge!

 Immerse yourself in an afternoon of artistic inspiration, fine wine, and good vibes hosted by The Communion Wine & Spirits. Explore the art exhibition "Textured Rebellion" by Katarra Peterson.

Textured hair is a pivotal aspect of the Black experience, often stirring feelings of both shame and pride. Katarra Peterson reimagines Kanekalon hair, elevating it from synthetic material to a profound expression of beauty and purpose. 

This exhibition showcases textured hair in various forms—flowing, bound, adorned—inviting exploration of its complexity and significance as an extension of identity. How has textured hair shaped your experience and conversations in your community?

Katarra Peterson, known for her powerful mixed media compositions, hails from Vallejo, California, and is now based in the Bronx, NY. She earned a BS with honors in Studio Art from Skidmore College and completed her MFA at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her abstract landscapes explore how land is shaped by its history. Kanekalon emphasizes materiality, acting as both a dimensional brushstroke and a symbol of Black femme experience. Her passion for light and color, combined with hand-stitching, glitter, and relaxed installations, creates an effect that is illuminated, approachable, playful, and transcendent.

Join us to meet the talented artist Katarra, explore her artwork, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts and wine lovers. We will have a selection of our new Fall and Winter inventory of wines open for tasting. 🎨🍷🍂

Garden to Glass 🌿🍸🥃 is an immersive spirits class that invites participants to discover the art of herbal mixology- cocktail creation using garden fresh ingredients. This class delves into a variety of diverse techniques and recipes for extracting flavors from fresh herbs and plants, offering participants the opportunity to sample both complete cocktails and the individual herbal and spirit components. Calling All Spirit Lovers...

Sunday School is back this month, and even better, The Communion's very first spirit tasting is finally here just in time for Father's Day!

If you've visited the store recently, you may have had the pleasure of meeting our new team member, Taylor Dumsky, who hails from Kanas City, Missouri and is our mixologist extraordinaire. She will be exploring the process of barrel aging and its effects on some of the traditional spirits we all enjoy. Looking for something to do with your Dad or just want to trade your wine in for spirits, this is the class for you to explore!

Mayor Ben Walsh and the City of Syracuse will be honoring Cha's perseverance and impact with a City Proclamation for her choice to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams in Syracuse, New York.
