We are thrilled to present our gallery experience and become a vibrant addition to Syracuse’s flourishing art community.

Our debut collaboration for our new endeavor is with the esteemed gallery owners of MIDOMA. Led by husband and wife team Michael Schwarzer and Marianna Ranieri-Schwarzer, MIDOMA specializes in fashion, art and beauty, featuring a diverse array of New York-based artists and fostering creativity and self expression.

Our gallery opening party will be held this weekend with MIDOMA. Join us to experience the artwork firsthand, mingle with the artists, gain insights from the curators, and taste some of our favorite Communion wines. We'll also have charcuterie and cheese on hand from the Curd Nerd.

To love wine is to know it's an everlasting quest for knowledge. With that in mind, we put together this hands-on class to help wine lovers get a better grasp on aromas in wine. Along with our friends and co-hosts CAMP Candle Bar, we're bringing you an interactive Sunday School that will alight your senses.

We'll provide 6 pre-blended fragrances that you'll infuse into your wax and use to make a candle for you to gift to that special someone or enjoy in your own home. Cha will also lead a wine tasting with all the info on how to identify different aromas in wines... something many have difficulty with. We'll work our way through the different scents to help you understand the aroma wheel and identify how different scents.

We can't wait for you to join us at this aromas in wine, aromatherapy, and candle-making worksop!

Let's pop some bottles! 🥂 🍾 We love the holiday season for many reasons...one of which is that it's always a great time to open a bottle of sparkling wine and sip in style with friends and family. Since last year's Sparkling Wine Sunday School was such a hit, we're bringing you our 2023 installment to help you get ready to ring in the holidays.

Whether you're prepping for an intimate dinner with your significant other, inviting the besties over for a potluck, or hosting the entire family (or friend group) at your place for an unforgettable party, this Sunday School class will get you prepped to be the host with the most sparkling wine knowledge!

This class will walk you through a tasting of four sparkling wines and give you the confidence to know your Champagne from your Cava! Your ticket also includes charcuterie nibbles from our pal Sarah Starace of the Curd Nerd.

Do you hear that? 🔔 It's the sound of holiday bells, which means holiday party season is just around the corner! If you've been wanting to impress your guests with your cheese board game, you will not want to miss our Cheese Board Sunday School class.

What better way to elevate your at-home party-throwing skills than by learning how to construct your very own edible cheese masterpiece. During this hands-on class, you'll get expert cheese board-arranging tips from the pro herself, Sarah Starace of The Curd Nerd. And Cha will handpick a selection of wines to take those cheeses to new heights. 

Your ticket includes a 2-wine tasting, a cheese board building lesson and all the cheese you’ll need to create a custom cheeseboard to take home after the event. Optional: Bring your own board.

About Sarah Starace, of The Curd Nerd: Sarah is officially an ACS CCP®! Back in July, Sarah attended the American Cheese Society Cheese Conference and sat for her Certified Cheese Professional Exam, which is one of the highest achievements in the field. To even qualify to take the exam, you need to prove that you have worked for over 4,000 hours in cheese. The exam is a 3 hour long test of all knowledge of cheese, ranging from importation law, cheesemaking techniques & procedures, affinage, cheese profiles, and more!

The Communion’s #MeetYourMaker is BACK on October 28th featuring Legend Imports Master Sommeliers Author, Jane Lopes & Winemaker Jon Ross for a book signing party and wine tasting to celebrate the launch of their new book "How to Drink Australian.” 

There’s nothing better than taking a trip to Australia through wine. We are honored to learn from these brilliant minds of wine to teach us about Australian wine. And we’re beyond thrilled to have them visit us here in Upstate, NY as a part of their American book tour. 

We'll also have some charcuterie and cheese on hand.

With its bucolic vineyards and world-class wine, it's easy to see why The Finger Lakes has stolen our hearts. And we want to share the magic with you! Join us for an all-day wine tour through the Finger Lakes as we venture to three vineyards and have brunch before returning back to Syracuse. 

The day starts at 9:00, where we'll meet at the pickup spot before heading off for a wine-filled day. Be prepared to soak in the sun and learn all about the winemaking techniques at some the Finger Lakes finest producers. Bring your curiosity...we'll provide the rest**!

CHEERS to The Communion's One Year Anniversary!

It's been one year of stocking our shelves with some of our favorite low-intervention wines for you to discover. One year of supplying you with wines and spirits crafted by women and BIPOC producers. One year of parties, Meet Your Makers, Sunday Schools Wine Classes, and free tastings for Thirsty Thursdays!

We have lots more to celebrate: The Communion was nominated for a 2023 Wine Enthusiast Magazine Wine Star Award for the category of Retailer/Marketplace of the Year.  We invite you to come celebrate this accomplishment with us. 

We have the music diva herself, and DJ Bella providing the vibes. And thanks to Visit Syracuse for coming on as a neighborhood partner and providing FREE pizza to this experience we will bring on a local food truck Via Napoli for an epic selection for a Pizza Buffet to pair well with our new FALL WINE selections.
